It's arts and culture time, and we've made it to another month in one piece! Though February is a short month, there's never any shortage of events with Valentine's Day and Black History Month.

These arts and culture event round ups are usually open to all events and cultures, but this one's a little different.

Here is your guide to six events celebrating Black culture and history to get you through Black History Month right here in DFW.

At The PAC is a 20225 documentary showcasing Oak Cliff's Pan African Connection store. Filmmaker Anthony Asota asks whether today's struggles for equity can be overcome and more, highlighting members of the community throughout. February 26 at 6:30 p.m.

The Vanguard Arts Show is back. I went in December and it was a good time filled with all kinds of art mediums, plus live canvas paintings and body painting. There was also poetry and music performances. Breakfast Brothers will cater food and there will be an after party Saturday at Casblanca with tunes from DJ Brandon Blue and DJ Memville. The two-day event will be held at 7-11 p.m. at Lofty Spaces February 13-14. Tickets start at $45.

A mental health and art symposium addressing the emotional well-being of Black men through visual art, live performances, and community dialogue. This year’s event explores the theme of "Joy" and why people often struggle to hold onto it, featuring an intergenerational panel discussion and an array of mental health resources. Attendees can also enjoy a vibrant showcase of Black male poets and musicians, local vendors, and free food in a supportive environment. This month's event will be held at the South Dallas Cultural Center from 2-5 pm on February 28. Free.

This one features your favorite journalist! I'll be sharing the stage with several talented spoken word artists at this gospel poetry slam. Features open mic and live music from 7-9 pm. The event is free on Friday, February 27.

The Wild Detectives bookshop and bar in Bishop Arts is hosting a trivia night. This time, it will be Black History themed. Participants can play solo or with a team. Trivia runs from 7-10 pm on Monday, February 16. Tickets and details here.

A high-energy cultural showcase of music, dance, and global Black expression. Celebrate heritage through art, rhythm, and movement at the Grand Prairie Events and Convention Center. Event happens from 3-5 pm on Sunday, February 22. Free.
