Elaine's Kitchen, a Jamaican restaurant that opened in 1987, is closing its doors in South Dallas. The last day they'll be open is October 18.

They were a staple for Jamaican eats. Some of their most popular dishes included beef patties, curry goat, stew chicken, roti, rasta pasta and goat soup.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was described as "warm, homey and reminiscent of a family gathering" on its website.

According to WFAA, the restaurant was founded by namesake Elaine Patricia Campbell and was later taken over by her nephew, Matthew Graham in 2023.

Elaine's Kitchen is located at 2717 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
