It's time for another round of food news from openings to new dishes to what's coming soon around the city. There were some new additions to the Michelin guide in areas such as Fort Worth and Plano, but you can find out more about that elsewhere.

In the meantime, take a look at this curated, quick list of restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth from Docent opening, a new The Henry at Legacy West, and a revolving sushi bar in Cedar Hill.

Here are 8 restaurants to add to your foodie list this fall.

The Henry, which currently has one North Texas location in Uptown, is opening its second area location (and 3rd in Texas) at Legacy West in Plano on October 21. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the opening will coincide with a new seasonal menu featuring all-day staples and standout cocktails such as the shrimp & crab Louis, cheesy truffle popovers, lychee martini, and the Western Goods with Angel’s Envy bourbon, loose leaf chai, orange marmalade, Madagascar vanilla, pressed lemon.

The Henry Plano’s menu offers a full-service coffee bar before discovering an open kitchen, an indoor-outdoor bar, and a private dining room for intimate gatherings.

Revolving sushi and ramen spot in Cedar Hill is now open. It's in the former Applebee's spot. They offer a menu of sushi, tempura, sashimi, appetizers, sushi pizza, and hibachi for lunch and dinner.

This Southern, Black-owned brunch spot in Victory Park opened in September. Their menu features devilled eggs with toppings like seafood boil and birria taco, Texas rangoon, golden fried hen, steak frites, burgers, and Cajun cream pasta. Their signature cocktails feature lavender sweet tea punch, pecan old fashioned, and dixie smoky sour.

The concept is from Kendall Williams, who created Pretty Tasting Foods in 2019 and has several food concepts under the brand's umbrella. Her deviled eggs also won big in the Big Tex Choice Awards at one point.

Meant to feel like a personal art collector's house, Docent is a two-story restaurant in the Harwood District complete with a patio. The first level is the main dining room and the moody lounge is downstairs.

Docent brings a fresh take on the classic steakhouse, pairing premium beef, warm hospitality and an art collection with multiple ways to dine and unwind. They raise and use their own special HWD Beef. It's one of only a few restaurants in the country with the Kobe beef certification.

This Houston steakhouse just debuted its Dallas location in the Design District. Located next door to Delilah, the restaurant features a movie theater-inspired atmosphere with classic films and cinematic décor. Menu items feature premium Wagyu steaks, sushi rolls, black truffle gnocchi, and Juliet’s signature 24-karat gold tomahawk ribeye.

Since opening in Houston in 2022, Juliet has attracted celebrity guests including Drake, Lizzo, and more. Will it bring the same energy in Dallas?

This Canadian restaurant just opened its second Dallas location (first was in North Park) in Uptown on Maple Avenue. JOEY comes from winning Top Chef alumnus and Executive Chef Matthew Stowe. Globally-inspired dishes include bone-in prime ribeye and tomahawk, served with JOEY’s signature crispy mashed potatoes, crispy nigiri, caviar, truffle udon carbonara and signature chocolate cake.

The beverage program is overseen by Bar Development Leader Jay Jones, a Restaurant Hall of Fame inductee, alongside Group Sommelier Jason Yamasaki. Adult beverages include a curated wine list selected by Yamasaki and cocktails such as the Sarti spritz and The Good Life margarita, and JOEY martini.

The Tiffany Derry concept is set to open its third location in Irving in December. Founded by Derry and her business partner Tom Foley, T2D Concepts is behind a growing portfolio of restaurant concepts and hospitality ventures. The Irving location marks the second franchise location for Roots Chicken Shak, following the opening of the brand’s first franchise location in Addison.

The Irving restaurant will be operated by Corey and Marian Epperson, the same local franchisees behind the Addison location. The menu features the Big Bird sandwich, wings, tenders and salads, along with an expanded selection of Southern-inspired sides, including mac & cheese, collard greens, and red beans and rice.

It opened in Cedar Hill and had cars and people wrapped around the building. I saw it firsthand. Chicken is good but way yoo spicy at just the hot heat level! They serve tenders, sliders, loaded fries, loaded mac & cheese, and shakes. This is the first location in Cedar Hill and one of many in Texas.
