September is drawing to an end and cooler temperatures, by Texas standards, are on the horizon. There were some exciting and anticipated restaurant openings that lit up the Dallas and Fort Worth dining scene.

Here are 9 restaurants that opened in DFW this month:

This Mediterranean restaurant from co-owner Nick Tsoulos opened in Uptown at the Crescent Hotel on September 19. Featuring a seafood-centric menu, some of the standout dishes include a classic whole grilled branzino, red snapper, Mediterranean white snapper, Chilean sea bass, and crab. Land bites include lamb chops, Greek salad, and steak.

Brya Zan comes from the creators of Malai Kitchen, Braden and Yasmin Wages. This Plano restaurant is described as a fresh take on Southeast Asian cuisine with noodles, wok-fired dishes such as lemongrass ginger stir-fried, and curries. They also have unique desserts like spicy cotton candy dusted with chili lime seasoning. Plus, they carry house-brewed beers, signature cocktails, and wine.

A second dine-in location for the Indian restaurant that opened its first location in East Dallas is now open in Bishop Arts. Elephant Indian comes from Chef Praveen Prasannan, a restaurant veteran who's opened several restaurant concepts, including Shiva's Bar and Grill. The menu features butter chicken, tikka masala, wraps, biryani, samosas, and Indo Chinese fare such as hakka noodles and crispy chili shrimp.

One of the Quad's latest sparkly new restaurants is now open in an expansive 5,200 square-foot space. Mamani comes from brother-owners Brandon and Henry Cohanim of the hospitality group Feels Like Home. Leading the culinary team is French chef Christophe de Lellis with dishes such as pastas, ham and cheese croquettes, and veal cordon bleu, and New Zealand lamb chops.

Like a phoenix, the restaurant rises again! Following several revivals, Duck Inn Again is open again as a brick-and-mortar concept with a new and improved menu. Best known for their hush puppies and catfish dinners, they've been a favorite among Lake Dallas locals. The new menu features cheeseburger baskets, fried catfish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and salads. Appetizers and sides include onion rings, pea salad, potato salad, and baked potatoes.

This fast casual chicken wing obsessed restaurant originated in Atlanta and made its DFW debut in April. It just opened this month north of Fort Worth in Keller at 8561 N. Beach Street. Wings, of course, are their specialty and they have 20 different global-inspired flavors. Some of their sauces include Citrus Chipotle BBQ, Jamaican Jerk, and Hot Honey Lemon Pepper. They also serve bites like cheese sticks, fried pickles, chicken sandwiches, and chicken and waffles.

North Richland Hills Cajun restaurant from owner of The Wild Cajun, Jesse Gibson, opened September 26. The restaurant is inspired by a fishing village in Louisiana by the same name. The menu features shrimp and oyster po'boys, boudin balls, and fried seafood baskets.

Pizzeria known for its star-point crusts now has a second Forth Worth location on West 7th Street. They have locations across Texas, Georgia, and Florida featuring pizzas made with imported Italian ingredients for that authentic flavor. Some of their signature pizzas are the Star Carlos, Star Lucas, and Matteo 2.0. They also have salads, calzones, appetizers, and Italian desserts.

This family-owned creamery and cafe had a long-anticipated opening for the past few months. It comes from couple Sarah Bhimani and Zanith Khoja who opened it not far from their restaurant, Sam's Bar & Grill. Their ice cream flavors include classics like chocolate and strawberry and more adventurous ones such as red velvet, honey bacon, and raspberry cheesecake. They also serve coffee, a selection of wine, and pastries.
