A new modern Mexican restaurant called Luna Roja is now open in Downtown Dallas just off Elm Street, the restaurant celebrates the flavors of Mexican cuisine through shareable plates and an immersive TacoKase experience in a lively, communal setting.

Luna Roja opened inside the Hilton Garden Inn hotel on April 2.

The new concept blends bold Mexican flavors with a more refined, shareable dining approach - featuring a chef-led TacoKase experience and a menu from Chef Omar Larson that leans into regional ingredients.

From seafood aguachiles to elevated takes on classic dishes like carne asada and churro donuts, the concept is designed as a lively, communal destination.

During a finely curated dinner, Chef Omar and his team presented artfully plated dishes such as the bite-sized tuna tostada starter, wild mushroom taco with poblano crema, and beets & burrata paired with a Blood Agave cocktail. The Luna Highball and Puesta del Sol

The pork shank, another standout dish, was huge, definitely enough to carve and share for two with warm tortillas.

Finally, ending on a sweet note was a dessert trio featuring a cup of creamy tres leches with slices of banana toward the bottom, dulce de leche topped with a strawberry slice and dollops of cream, and churro donut with chocolate.

Dessert and the prior courses were finished off with a creamy, yet bold, espresso cocktail called the La Luna Ariba featuring El Tesoro Reposado, espresso liqueur, and a cream tequila cold foam topped with espresso beans.

Weekend brunch includes dishes such as Hawaiian Bigeye Tuna Tostadas layered with citrus-soy, chipotle aioli, salsa macha avocado, radish and cilantro and Huevos en Purgatorio with poached eggs simmered in chile de árbol tomato sauce and topped with cilantro, queso fresco, pickled red onions and radish.

Plus, to round it all out, they offer a curated tequila selection featuring over 50 tequila options and craft cocktails, creating a new gathering spot that reflects both the spirit of Mexico and the energy of Downtown Dallas.
